Working with plaster casts and still-lives, students learn the 4 key principles of representational art: proportion, line & volume, chiaroscuro and colour. Work starts in charcoal, gradually building to oil painting.

 September 4 days drawing, 3 days painting. Henry Yan is a regular contributor to London Fine Art Studios academic calendar. He originally trained in China and is now based in the USA where he teaches at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Yan is a master draughtsman whose work is characterised by attention to anatomical detail and powerful gesture.

He returns to London for a drawing workshop at London Fine Art Studios.  The celebrated artist trained in China before establishing himself in the States, where he now teaches at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Henry is a master of drawing the figure from life, he is swift and sleight of hand; acutely detailed yet bold.  This course is suited to all levels and offers a wonderful opportunity to learn from a Master.

Former pupils are drawn from across the creative industries, including animation, concept art, graphic design and fine art.

There will be a live painting demonstration, Q&A and sale of work on Thursday 10th September at 6.30pm (£20).
