Join this new series of tutored workshops with Ann Witheridge, director of London Fine Art Studios inspired by the exhibition Alma-Tadema: At Home in Antiquity on display at Leighton House Museum from 7 July to 29 October 2017




Session 3: The figure in Alma Tadema’s work. Tuesday 12 September 10am – 1pm

Students and artists will draw in sketch pads from the figure model who will be posing in the Arab Hall. Focus will be on proportion, gesture and the figure within the setting. Students will then take the studies to the learning centre to develop the colour notes, returning to the Arab Hall later with the model.

Materials needed:

– Small sketch pad, easily held in museum. No bigger than A4

– Pencils (can include colour crayons) eraser, watercolour kit

– Watercolour pad. Notebook
